Mommy's Watching You

Posted on 3/23/2013 by Unknown | 0 comments

I was taking photos of a renovation project I'm working on and when I got to the attic, I was struck by how compelling this painting of the owner's mother was.  After further review, I now understand why this work of art is relegated to keep watch over the unfinished, grungy attic.  I processed this as black and white, but her mother told me she wanted to be in color.  LOL.  Enjoy

Only the Shadow Knows!

A shot from one of my construction projects.  An electrician on lift staging, but I waited for him to bend down a bit to catch his whole shadow on the wall.  Enjoy.

Guess where this was taken?  No cheating JJ.
I've been quite busy lately, haven't had a chance to post much.  This is a technique by where you set the shutter speed to open for 1/15 sec or longer and rotate the camera, fire away.  In certain locations, it's a real cool effect.   Enjoy.

Thanks MOM!

As in Mother Nature for sure.  She left this sweet morsel of snow goodness on my back yard patio the other day.  Here for a minute, gone forever after the sun  rose.  Basketweave never looked so good.  Enjoy.

Like a Bridge over Foggy Waters:

Posted on 1/14/2013 by Unknown | 0 comments

I've never seen this before in the 14 years I've had my office here.  The Fog just came up over the Mystic River quickly and as soon as it was there it left.  I ran out to grab this shot of the Rt. 16 Bridge, which I do frequently, but this was pretty eerie stuff.  Enjoy

Looks like New England?

Yeah, that's because it is.  Montpelier VT downtown church in late fall.  The colors were appealing to me.  Enjoy.

A River Runs Through It

Posted on 1/12/2013 by Unknown | 1 comments

I don't know the name of this river that runs through Montpelier VT, but it adds a serenity to the downtown area.  This old railroad bridge is gently rusting in place and makes for a great walkway across the river.  I originally shot this and processed in HDR and found I liked this original version with some Lightroom adjustments much better.  Enjoy.

Moon over Boston

I grabbed this shot last fall during that giant moon.  Fortunately it slowly rose across the John Hancock Tower and headed towards the Prudential Center.  Enjoy.

Just like Yesterday:

Somewhere in Vermont I grabbed this shot of the turning leaves.  Not too many reds this time, but the yellows were pretty vibrant. (thanks Lightroom).  My point is we are in the midst of a winter storm here in Boston and I forgot to process these Fall photos which it seems like I took just yesterday.  Enjoy.

Let if Flow BABY!

I worked hard for this one.  Hiked a whole 20 feet from the car, set up the tripod, and fired away.  Once the crazy people moved away from the bottom of the waterfall, I was good to go.  Don't you just love those roadside waterfalls all over Vermont and NH.  This one is from somewhere in VT.  Enjoy.

Nutcrackers on Christmas Tree watch duty.  Always smiling, never complaining.  No presents were lost.  Enjoy.

Doughboy get's no respect

Posted on 12/24/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

Seriously Mr. Doughboy, nobody cares about your fancy chain of candy and gingerbread stars, we are all looking at the Corvette.  And what's with that sissyfied apron?  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  And furthermore, you've gotta start working out, you are turning soft.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All.

Wrong Turn

Bernadette Peters made a wrong turn and hit a tree.  (you may need to look that one up)  Enjoy.

Hanging with Barbie:

Posted on 12/21/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

It looks like Barbie had a bit of a makeup malfunction while getting dressed for the Christmas tree gala.  She seems to have smeared some of her lipstick across the bridge of her nose.  And she thought no one would notice in this dim light.  She could use a good dermal abrasion to smooth out her skin too.  Oh well, she's still hot.

Of course, it's one of several Barbie ornaments hanging from our tree.  More intimate portraits of these women to come.  Enjoy.

Mystic Reflection

Sunset over the Upper Mystic Lake.  Remnants of a dock of days gone by.  Enjoy.

This is one of those uniquely rare moments that the sun is low enough in the sky, that the reflection comes all the way under the Rt 16 bridge here in Medford, and illuminates the underside of the arch.  Taken right outside my office on the patio.  Mystic river reflection.  Enjoy.

He dances with Water

Young boy playing along with the dancing waters in Cancun Mexico.  Enjoy.

Sorry Buddy!

Don't be so sad man, you are a hero today, if it's any solace.  Enjoy.

Tranquil Merrimack River:

Posted on 11/15/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

Most likely left in the aftermath of some spring rains along the Merrimack River in Haverhill, MA, I spotted these sister logs jutting up from the water in this tidal river.  I walked so far down the bank, I almost got stranded as the tide was coming back in.  The mucky muddy sandy banks were almost quicksand-like.  The clouds were very cooperative that day.  Enjoy

Crazy Eyes

I saw this husky during a trick or treat event in the square, and I was mesmerized by his eyes. Reminds me a bit of those Linda Carter eyes from the 80's. She was spray painted fluorescent green all over by her owner, so I had to make her black and white and pull out those eyes........ Enjoy.
