Lake Solitude, Newbury, NH

Posted on 7/18/2016 by Unknown | 0 comments

It takes a rigorous hike uphill about 1,500 feet to reach this beautiful and serene pond.  It's actually called Lake Solitude.  Pack some snacks, water, and good hiking shoes.  Contrary to what the information guy said at Lake Sunapee resort, it's not an easy hike.  Enjoy.

Red Tree

Coming around a corner and this tree just screamed "take my picture" at us.  Pretty cool how the cows grazing in the field behind could have cared less.  But then, they pretty much don't care about anything.  Enjoy.

Church Chat

Thanks for the patience of my family to get this shot.  I had to sprint 100 yards up and down a steep hill, twice, to grab the right lens and then hope the shot was still there.  I didn't  even notice the kyak guy in the shot below the church.  Thanks buddy.  This was my favorite from the day.  Enjoy.

Ducking Bullets

Thank God the gun range to the left was closed for Columbus Day.  I stayed very low when I took my shots.  Somewhere in NH.  Enjoy.

Basin Waterfalls I

I ended up capturing a bunch of waterfalls during our trip to NH recently. This is one of the waterfalls with a serene and easy drop, at an area called the Basin.

Goodrich Falls, Glen, NH - pre-Irene

Posted on 9/06/2011 by Unknown | 0 comments

Only three days after I took this photo, Irene came through and added another 12' of water to this sleepy waterfall. I saw a video of this area on youtube and where I was standing was completely covered in rushing water. I beleive it's back to normal now. This is in Glen, NH at the Goodrich Falls. I'm anxious to revisit this next time I'm up there. Many of the roads and bridges were washed out in this area and it's hard to imagine this beautiful, serene view is forever changed.  Enjoy.

No Don't Jump!

Posted on 11/10/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

Well, the water was pretty cold, so I don't think she's going to jump in the lake in late October.  My daughter pondering life while looking out across Lake Winnipesaukee in NH.  Enjoy!

Lake Winnipesaukee from the clouds

Posted on 10/14/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

I took this shot of Lake Winnipesaukee this past Columbus Day from the road to Castle in the Clouds. We didn't actually go see the castle, but did see the waterfalls (photo in later post) and got these great views of the lake from the road.  Enjoy.

Grand Central Station

Posted on 9/30/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

How many times have you thought your house was like Grand Central Station?  Fortunately, it's not, but it can feel like it when everyone is going every which way.  GSS is a difficult place to take a photo in because they have the tripod police not allowing you to set up a tripod, and they are suspicious of anyone w/ a nice camera.  I grabbed this long exposure shot while resting the camera on a railing.  The motion blur tells it all.  Enjoy.

Bridge in NH

Posted on 7/10/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

This is the bridge where the Russian spies were swapped.  Truth is, I can't remember what town this was in.  I am sure it's in lower NH.  It's a beautiful example of how wooden structure railroad bridges were built.  Enjoy.
