The Grand Tetons in August

Posted on 10/03/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

I realize the Grand Tetons look more spectacular with a beautiful snowcap on them, but this is how they look in late August.  Relatively bare, but still quite beautiful.  I found this photo taking location by asking some of the locals.  The calm water is part of the snake river, but as an offshoot, it's perfect for reflections.  This is one of my favorite shots.  Enjoy.

Mt. Moran

I just can't get enough of Wyoming mountains.  This is Mt. Moran as seen from between the trees on a crazy road leading to a lookout on the opposite side of the valley.  I precariously pulled the car to the edge and shot this one.  Enjoy!

Home on the Range

Posted on 6/23/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam.  This is the one, but it's not inhabitable and its over 120 years old, and the buffalo roam all over the place, even inside.  The old barn is located at Mormon's Row outside of Jackson, WY with the Grand Teton Mountains in the background.  Late August, no snowcap on the mountains. Enjoy.

Grand Tetons

I know, it's been over a week since I last posted.  Been busy w/ family stuff.  Any way, this photo was taken from the north side of Jackson Lake in Wyoming just north of the Grand Teton National Forest.  The mountain range is the Grand Tetons.  Enjoy.

Morning Glory

Perhaps the most famous hot spring in the United States.  Known as "Morning Glory" for its similarity to the flower, is located in the upper geyser basin of Yellowstone National Park.  I've seen many photos of this monument, and I think mine is up there with the best of them.  Enjoy.

Deer in the Headlights

Posted on 5/24/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

While driving back one evening from Yellowstone towards the Grand Teton National Park we saw these two baby Deer mesmerized by our headlights.  I stopped the car, grabbed my camera, they posed and darted into the brush.  Enjoy.

This view of Mt. Moran of the Grand Tetons, was taken from a very famous photo spot called "Oxbow Bend"  One of my favorites from our trip to Wyoming.  Enjoy.

Yellowstone's big falls

I know this is one of the most photographed waterfalls in America, but I couldn't resist sharing my shot of this incredible sight.  Yellowstone National Park is a must see.  Enjoy.

Sunset on the Tetons

Posted on 5/14/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

This was our view from the Jenny Lake Lodge dining room in the Grand Teton National Park, as the sun was setting during dinner.  The colors of the Grand Tetons kept changing by the minute.  Enjoy.

Horseback Ride Spectacular

Posted on 4/19/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

Well, actually, this photo could only be taken from the vantage point of my horseback.  We took a trail ride through the Grand Teton National Forest and came upon this spectacular view of the Grand Tetons.  I have lots of them to share later, but this is one you won't see in many books.  I highly recommend taking a trail ride when out there, it's loads of fun.  Enjoy!

Bison staredown

Posted on 4/18/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

On our trip to Wyoming, we made a few trips to Antelope Flats, where the Bison roam free outside of Jackson.  This isn't in Yellowstone, it's in someone's backyard.  They made for some great photos when approached from a safe distance.  My kids thought no distance was safe, but I guess I like living on the edge.  These are awesome animals to see close up.
