Church Chat

Posted on 10/16/2014 by Unknown | 0 comments

Thanks for the patience of my family to get this shot.  I had to sprint 100 yards up and down a steep hill, twice, to grab the right lens and then hope the shot was still there.  I didn't  even notice the kyak guy in the shot below the church.  Thanks buddy.  This was my favorite from the day.  Enjoy.

Ducking Bullets

Thank God the gun range to the left was closed for Columbus Day.  I stayed very low when I took my shots.  Somewhere in NH.  Enjoy.

Fall White House

Posted on 10/13/2014 by Unknown | 0 comments

It's been a while since I've driven my family crazy with jumping out of the car and taking photos of every potential shot I see. I liked how this pond framed the white house at the end. Climbed down a bank, over a fence, saved a Turtle from an eminent highway disaster, and here it is. Yesterday, we had a leaf peeping drive up through southern NH. More to come. Enjoy.

Like a Bridge over Foggy Waters:

Posted on 1/14/2013 by Unknown | 0 comments

I've never seen this before in the 14 years I've had my office here.  The Fog just came up over the Mystic River quickly and as soon as it was there it left.  I ran out to grab this shot of the Rt. 16 Bridge, which I do frequently, but this was pretty eerie stuff.  Enjoy

Just like Yesterday:

Somewhere in Vermont I grabbed this shot of the turning leaves.  Not too many reds this time, but the yellows were pretty vibrant. (thanks Lightroom).  My point is we are in the midst of a winter storm here in Boston and I forgot to process these Fall photos which it seems like I took just yesterday.  Enjoy.

Mystic Reflection

Sunset over the Upper Mystic Lake.  Remnants of a dock of days gone by.  Enjoy.

This is one of those uniquely rare moments that the sun is low enough in the sky, that the reflection comes all the way under the Rt 16 bridge here in Medford, and illuminates the underside of the arch.  Taken right outside my office on the patio.  Mystic river reflection.  Enjoy.

Tetonic Reflection

Posted on 8/13/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

How many photos have you taken from a horse?  I shot this in Jackson, WY of the Grand Tetons reflecting off this pond while taking a trail ride.  Highly recommended excursion through this area.  Enjoy.

Moonrise over Charlestown

Eating dinner at Tavern on the Water in Charlestown, we caught the moon coming up over the buildings across the Boston Harbor. Steadied the camera on the railing to grab this shot. Enjoy.

Lonely Sailboats

I suppose that after a long day traversing the Atlantic, these sailboats need their rest.  So peaceful, so reflective.  Enjoy

Harbor Reflection

Posted on 7/18/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

This storefront window was perfectly located opposite a break in the stores that gives a peek towards the Rockport, MA harbor.  Manual focus was necessary to keep the auto from hunting as I wanted to clarify the hand crafted artwork in the store.  Enjoy.

Scooter reflection:

Posted on 7/03/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

The only reason I would take this shot is because of +Lotus Carroll and all her reflection selfie's.  It's all her fault.  I was in the middle of a photo walk class in Back Bay, Boston and saw this cool scooter and with the Back Bay reflected in the background, thought it was totally cool.  I tried hard to get a similar reflection in the front of the lens and put my knuckles in the sunlight so you'd see them.  This was fun.  Lotus, it's all your fault.  I suppose if I pee'd on the street, you could consider it a bathroomselfie. You have to be on Google+ to know who Lotus us.  Enjoy.

Rust Bucket

Posted on 6/28/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

I was doing a photo walk in the Back Bay, Boston and stumbled upon this gem, rusting away, coated in tree junk, bondo and everything else.  I saw this one in a nice sepia tone, so there you go.  Enjoy.

Unexpected Surprise

Posted on 5/22/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

I was so looking forward to taking pics of the giant perigree moon a few weeks ago, but the fog came in so fast over the Atlantic, that it reduced visibility to less than 50'.  While waiting for the sun to set and the moon to rise, I was walking around behind the local Cosco and saw this nice inlet of the Mystic River and the sunset was casting it's pink on the clouds.  I never even knew this was here, and just out of frame to the left is Boston.  Enjoy.

It finally snowed!

Posted on 1/17/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

We finally had our first snow in New England. I wouldn't call it much of anything, but I thought I'd post this pic of the Mystic River from one of last year's snowstorms to get us in the mood for more. It's going to be 45 today, so it won't last long. Enjoy.

Tidal Pool Reflection

Posted on 8/07/2010 by Unknown | 0 comments

While visiting Rockport, MA last weekend, I ventured out over the break water rocks (rock climbing with camera dangling involved) and found this very vibrant algae encrusted tidal pool that made for some nice rock reflections, while capturing a beautiful yacht just off the coast in the background.  I'll have a few more from this location in later posts.  Enjoy!
