A sunset pic of perhaps the last game my daughter will ever pitch.  :(.  This was the worst field ever.  The infield was mostly weeds and stones.  The pitchers had to throw directly into the sun late in the game and my daughter was blinded so much she couldn't even see the catcher.  Billerica field, never again.  Only possible in HDR.  Enjoy.

110 year old building's used to have just one stair.  So the Architects really put some effort into the design.  The handrails are just incredibly detailed, the stair treads are marble and the landings are terrazzo.  Bet you can't find a fire stair in the past 50 years that has as much custom details as this one.  I'm sure there are may of this era, but this part of the building is where the least amount of money is spent today.  The sprinkler pipe was not part of the original design of course.  The railings are very cool cast iron.  Enjoy.

It's about making the photo.  I saw this cool piece of driftwood floating in the ocean, walked around before most of the beach was packed with sun bathers, and walked all the way to the end of the beach to avoid some people, laid down on my stomach and took the shot.  Taken on Labadee, Haiti.  Enjoy.

Yeah, I don't think that's a word, but when without a tripod, I jamb the camera against and in between railings all the time.  This shot of Quincy Market was an HDR shot between the railings on the second floor of the retail shops.  Enjoy.

I'm not sure what buildings these are, but I think they are in Brooklyn, NY.  We cruised by and I saw them coming when the sun was coming up and at that moment, I grabbed the shot.  Hey, it's football season, so it's appropriate.  Enjoy.

It was fun looking at the sea birds from above for a change.  Seems like they are always hovering, crapping on everything and feeding on scraps.  These gulls were riding the Cruise Ship's windy wake as I looked down from the 11th deck.  I believe these are Masked Boobies.  Enjoy.

Waiting for the water taxi to take us back to the Ship in St. Maarten, this cool sunburst from behind the setting sun popped up.  Couldn't resist the photo op.  Enjoy.

Handheld HDR taken just as the sun had set and the sky was a beautiful deep blue.  The Custom House Tower was saying "hey, photograph me with the Faneuil Hall Marketplace sign in the foreground to give me context and lots of people walking around to show activity.  That tower is so demanding.  Enjoy.

Walking around Faneuil Hall a few weeks ago and I saw this awesome window display with this antique style dress front and foremost.  The lighting was just right. This one is for all the Ladies out there.  Enjoy.

The only place you can get this photo from is the top deck of a cruise ship as it passes under the Verazano Narrows Bridge at sunrise.  Coming back into port to Bayonne, NJ, our ship provided a spectacular vantage point to grab some sunrise over New York pics.  Timing is everything.  Enjoy.

A simple prayer for the victims of the 9/11 attacks.  God bless their families. God bless our Country.

This sculpture on the Explorer of the Seas was a fitting reference point for this sunrise as we sailed into the NYC harbor.  You can't quite see the sun yet, but the clouds and painted colors were cooperating nicely for this early morning shot.  Enjoy.

One of those tourist rides at Quincy Market, but this horse looked like he had enough.  I wanted the custom house in the background, so I inched very close on the ground to grab this shot.  I think I missed the droppings.  Enjoy.

Salem, MA is most noted for it's witches and odd stories of such, but on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I grabbed this shot of their power plant.  It sit's to the north of the downtown area and is quite noticeable from the waterfront.  I noticed how the stacks appear to be creating the clouds.  It felt better in B&W.

Jacqi Michaels recently did a gig on a cruise ship I was on and I grabbed this pic of her during one of her more intimate solos.  She was very entertaining has a great vocal range, and is multi talented.  She's got more talent than most of the alleged "singers" that are more well known today.

I was in an antique shop at Pickering Wharf last Sunday and I was killing time dreaming of my forthcoming long island iced tea, when I noticed this collection of antique cameo's in a glass case. To my surprise, I thought I saw something unusual. Could that be a Lesbian Cameo sitting with the others? She's got a handle on things for sure. What do you think?

I got up at 5AM to grab some sunrise photos with New York in the background, on the top deck of the cruise ship and while the sun was just beginning it's ascent, I waited for this jogger to run by me to catch her in motion. She thought she was getting in my way every time she went by, but I told her just to do her thing and I'll do mine. Perhaps that didn't sound so good at the time, but it worked for me on this pic. Enjoy.

I really liked how this tree reaches out over the water, so I moved into position for the sunset to be framed by the tree branches.  Enjoy.

How many photos have you taken from a horse?  I shot this in Jackson, WY of the Grand Tetons reflecting off this pond while taking a trail ride.  Highly recommended excursion through this area.  Enjoy.

Eating dinner at Tavern on the Water in Charlestown, we caught the moon coming up over the buildings across the Boston Harbor. Steadied the camera on the railing to grab this shot. Enjoy.

As an Architect, I tend to gravitate to patterns and lines and it leads me to make photos of things that don't present themselves as an obvious photo opportunity. Try it, next time you are somewhere, you'll be surprised how many things you are missing that can make interesting photos. These boat slips in the Charlestown Marina were all empty, but the reflection of the boats behind sort of make them ghostly full.  Enjoy

I posted a similar shot of this barn a few weeks ago that was more of a long shot.  I'm debating on which one I like better, so I figure I'd post this version too.  No tripod, I used the top of a fence to steady the camera.  Enjoy.

Not really sure of his name, it might be Joe or Kevin, but I do know what he paints with.  A Komatsu 1250 Shear excavator.  I saw this piece of steel gouged and scraped by the excavator and it looked like a work of a famous abstract artist to me.  It's unintentional art, but I think it is beautiful in it's own way.  What do you think?  Enjoy

No it's not Detroit, it's Haverhill, MA.  These motors are being cut apart and salvaged for their copper.  What looks like total junk is worth more than you can imagine.  Enjoy.

A few weeks ago, I posted a photo of this old Ford and the bike, taken from ground level, reflecting in a puddle left from an overnight shower.  This same subject matter takes on a whole different look when taken from a Back Bay staircase.  Move around, you can find yourself looking at things differently.  Change your perspective.  Enjoy.

Remember them?  Well, this isn't them, but this deconstruction worker just looks like he might fit right in.  He works for a large demo contractor here on a project in Haverhill, MA.  I caught him on a break grabbing a butt and a breather. Enjoy.

This storefront window was perfectly located opposite a break in the stores that gives a peek towards the Rockport, MA harbor.  Manual focus was necessary to keep the auto from hunting as I wanted to clarify the hand crafted artwork in the store.  Enjoy.

Every time I head to Rockport, I try to see the lobster shack in a different way.  There is this row of shops along the main road that has a few gaps between the building, so I saw this bunch of flowers and grabbed a shallow depth of field pic so the contrast in colors were more pronounced.  Enjoy

Not many people photograph this famously red lobster shack in Rockport, MA from the rear, but in many ways, it's just as beautiful.  In fact, I've never really noticed it before.  So glad I did.  Enjoy

As the Olympics approach, I wonder when if they might consider bridge jumping into tidal pools.  As the tide ebbs and flows, I'm sure this is more or less dangerous, depending on the time of day, but this boy doesn't seem to care at all.  I like his form, it's originality, degree of difficulty, and I give him a 9.8.  It would have been a 10, but his right foot is not pointing like the left.  Enjoy.

Late in the day harbor grab. Of course, the wife is wondering around the various shops and I'm wondering around looking for a way to get down close to the water and found this hidden staircase to a mucky sandy area. Enjoy.

Out with my wife last Sunday heading for dinner and we drove by this farm near Woodman's Restaurant in Essex, MA.  I dropped her off and she wasn't thrilled about it but I made her wait in line while I ran back to take a few, using a fence as my tripod shots of this beautiful sunset.  A few minutes later it would have been pink, but you take what your time gives you and get the shot.  Enjoy.

C'mon, how cold could it be.  Well, as this young boy is tepidly testing out the frigid water and rocky bottom, it's pretty cold.  Swimming in the ocean in New England during the summer is a crap shoot.  You can always tell how cold the water is based on how many kids are in it.  It seems kids are immune to freezing water temps for swimming.  Adults, not so much.  This kid won't even put his hands in the water.  I think he enjoyed himself nonetheless.  Taken near Manchester by the Sea at "Tucks Point".  Enjoy.

I never design curved beams because I know my clients would freak out at the cost.  This is the underside of the walkway that takes you over Storrow drive, so public project, no regard for costs, or maintenance for that matter.  The view is of the Charles river on a lazy Sunday.

Thankful for those brave men and women who protect our freedom.  Enough said.

The only reason I would take this shot is because of +Lotus Carroll and all her reflection selfie's.  It's all her fault.  I was in the middle of a photo walk class in Back Bay, Boston and saw this cool scooter and with the Back Bay reflected in the background, thought it was totally cool.  I tried hard to get a similar reflection in the front of the lens and put my knuckles in the sunlight so you'd see them.  This was fun.  Lotus, it's all your fault.  I suppose if I pee'd on the street, you could consider it a bathroomselfie. You have to be on Google+ to know who Lotus us.  Enjoy.

Not quite Titanic. Actually, if you look closely, they all have safety harnesses around their waists.  This is a photo of the Colombian tall ship that sailed into Boston Harbor over the weekend.  I'll post an album later.  Enjoy.
