I was so looking forward to taking pics of the giant perigree moon a few weeks ago, but the fog came in so fast over the Atlantic, that it reduced visibility to less than 50'. While waiting for the sun to set and the moon to rise, I was walking around behind the local Cosco and saw this nice inlet of the Mystic River and the sunset was casting it's pink on the clouds. I never even knew this was here, and just out of frame to the left is Boston. Enjoy.
Last week, I took a pic of these dandelions in a bright yellow bloom,
but only a week later, they've completely transformed into these puffy
seedlings that look like a field of cotton. I had to get down on their
level to see what it was like to be a dandelion. Enjoy
The smokestack in the distance didn't stand a chance
against this Komatsu excavator with a shear claw attached. This thing
is scary. I've yet to see any object it can't completely destroy. It
cuts through steel beams like a scissor and rips apart concrete like
play dough. It's an amazing piece of demolition equipment. I think
it'd cut a tank in half with no problem. Enjoy.
Usually, that means extra horsepower. In this case,
it has something to do with 100 year old boilers. If you squint, it
almost looks like the low hanging clouds are the exhaust smoke. Enjoy
This huge branch from a giant willow tree was struck by lightning
several years ago and for some crazy reason, it continues to thrive well
in it's broken down state as it lays on the ground. The spring lavender ground-cover was a bonus in this shot. Enjoy.
Tomorrow is Good Friday for all Orthodox Christians, so here is a shot
of the priest's bible at our church with a beautiful stained glass
window beyond. This is actually from a Christening, but I'll never

doing some lawn care for the course manager at Aruba's Tierra del Sol.
They have a sniper posted at the top of the lighthouse to fend off the
wildlife on the course. Just kidding. Enjoy.
I was thinking about the full moon the other day as it seemed so bright. This from a few years back. Enjoy.
I went to the lake because it looked like a nice sunset, but the clouds
dissapated and my Canon 7D was freezing up on me :(, but I was able to
get a couple of sunset shots. Gotta get that thing serviced by Canon.

I saw a post on Google+ from a friend of a rail car and I thought, mine was pretty cool too, but I never shared it. I snuck on this rail car last summer when they were putting away the trains. It's an old turn of the century North Conway Scenic Railroad rail car that has been restored to it's original glory. Note the beautifully arched clerestory windows a the top of the cab. Very cool Enjoy.
We didn't have any snow here in New England this year, so
this is to remind us all that we still aren't out of the woods. All
the lights gave this an orange hue, and I didn't like it, so I converted
to B&W. I think I was standing in a 4' snow bank on this shot.

I don't know if that's how you spell it, but my Niece's daughter was
horsing around and she's well aware by now that I'm making photos, so
she fluffed her hair in front of her face and gave me that smarmy look.

The day after I took this photo, the water was about 4' higher and
raging like the Colorado. It poured rain like crazy overnight and when I
went back to this point, I was amazed by the transformation. Ellis

There are times when a photo needs something extra for effect. I've strategically placed this young girl (my daughter) holding a bible in front of this beautiful stained glass window at St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Cambridge, MA. There are many stained glass windows in this church, each one beautifully crafted and preserved. This shows that sometimes you have to add something to make a photo work. Enjoy.
What the? It's the first day of spring, only 55
degrees at the beach here in Revere, MA, but this woman wanted to be the
first official beach goer of the year. A little nippy for a beach day,
but she's got the right idea. We have a short season up north. Enjoy.
It's no secret that we've had unseasonably
warm weather the past week here in New England, but as I was grabbing
lunch in Revere, MA, I saw this woman in full dress, alone with her
thoughts meandering along the beachfront. Penny for her thoughts? Even
the seagulls had to do a double take. Enjoy.
From inside to outside these beautifully
detailed masonry buildings are visible from the atrium of the
Transportation building in Boston. No one does brickwork like this
anymore. I could design it all day long, but it's too expensive for
craftsman to build anymore. Enjoy.

Well, not these lights, they are a bit
dim, but I loved their juxtaposition (term Architects like to use) at
the bar in P.F. Changs, Boston. The swirly colored glass was so warm.

This is one of my favorite photos that I've
ever taken. Long before I had a clue about the intricacies of
photography. I took this shot of my daughter about 7 years ago when she
was reaching for something in the water. An impromptu moment that is
captured forever. Crystal clear water and jagged mountains complete it

This photo taken on
the grounds of a relatively new Vineyard in, get ready for this, North
Canton, OH. I grew up nearby and this couple took a chance on an old
barn, converted it to a beautiful restaurant and now they grow their own
wines. It's quite nice and risky in this working class city. I applaud
them for their entrepreneurial spirit. Enjoy.

I had the opportunity to walk through an
old Paper Mill recently. I didn't have much time, no tripod, and the
lighting was dismal, but I managed to grab this shot of the old drying
line boilers. I think that's what they were. I envisioned this photo
in B&W from the get go. Most likely 100+ years old. I'm hoping to
document the plant before it becomes history. Enjoy.
Waterfall in Glen, NH. Getting to this vantage point was not easy, but
sure got the blood flowing as fast as the water was rushing. Artistic
help from Photoshop of course. I've been experimenting with some of the built in filters in CS4, and this is where I found that look of a painting on canvas. Enjoy.
As I burrowed myself in the hot sand - (pity me) I took
this photo of these beautiful flowers seemingly growing out of the very
dry sand. Amazing how they adapt to the dry climate. Taken on the
beautiful island of Roatan, off the coast of Honduras. One of the most
beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Enjoy.

Ok, it's a popular spot, but
the overlook at Mt. Washington can provide a great view for some
spectacular sunsets. This one had a cool cloud formation that almost
looked like a giant shrimp net reaching out to catch you. Enjoy.
We finally got some snow here in Boston, and
before it melted, I caught these dead flowers outside the office with
what looks like cotton sprinkled on the top. I also see dandelions ready
to shed their seeds. Enjoy.
I was photographing a 40th anniversary party at a restaurant and looked outside to see they still had their Christmas lights up. The new LED's give a bluish white color and w/o the autofocus, make for a nice effect. Enjoy.
MMMMMMM, yea, lots of M's. I was taking some macro photos of flowers
when I spotted the candy jar and couldn't resist. The blue ones are
just as good as the red ones. Enjoy.
The irony here is that I can't stand the smell of these flowers. My allergies aside, they are quite beautiful. So taking some macro shots of these lily's caused me some discomfort, but I held my nose and fired away. Enjoy the colors.

flowers that were part of Valentines day around here. I'll share a few

Oh, I wish I were standing in the warm Gulf water right now. Memories
of our trip to Marco Island where we took this sailboat to a shell
island. This sea grass nicely close to the edge gave me a flowing curve
to play off the sailboat. Enjoy.
Just about to leave work and glanced out the
window, grabbed the old camera at work and shot this sunset through the
trees. Aren't Lightroom's sliders fun? Reduced clarity, increased
saturation and vibrance. 30 seconds, done. Loved the colors this way.

I was looking for the full moon tonight but the clouds are messing up the deal.
I caught this sunrise from the deck of our cruise
ship the last day of the trip in Ft. Lauderdale. It looked like a bunch
of explosions over the horizon as the sun peeked around the
cloudbursts. Enjoy.

Very strange place for it and I am thinking it was there before the
