Sitting in the back alley between buildings in Boston, and I looked up through the sunroof of my car to see this gently curving facade. I'm not sure what building it was, but with no clouds in the sky, it looked very cool. I positioned my self directly under the column and wrenched my neck to grab the shot. Enjoy.
110 year old building's used to have just one stair. So the Architects really put some effort into the design. The handrails are just incredibly detailed, the stair treads are marble and the landings are terrazzo. Bet you can't find a fire stair in the past 50 years that has as much custom details as this one. I'm sure there are may of this era, but this part of the building is where the least amount of money is spent today. The sprinkler pipe was not part of the original design of course. The railings are very cool cast iron. Enjoy.
A few weeks ago, I posted a photo of this old Ford and the bike, taken from ground level, reflecting in a puddle left from an overnight shower. This same subject matter takes on a whole different look when taken from a Back Bay staircase. Move around, you can find yourself looking at things differently. Change your perspective. Enjoy.
I was wrapping up taking some cliffhanger waterfalls photos and walking back to the car, looked to my right (keeping an eye out for bears) and noticed the sunlight filtering throught the trees. The family was anxiously awaiting me so we could head out to dinner. I knew this was going to be a great candidate for a wide angle shot, distortion and all. Located near Goodrich Falls, Glen, NH.
