St. Maarten sunburst:

Posted on 9/16/2012 by Unknown | 0 comments

Waiting for the water taxi to take us back to the Ship in St. Maarten, this cool sunburst from behind the setting sun popped up.  Couldn't resist the photo op.  Enjoy.

Red Canyon

Words can't begin to describe this place.  Imagine the most awesome thing you've ever seen, to the 10th power.  Sunrise over the Canyon.  If you haven't visited, put it on your bucket list.  Enjoy.

Red-ish Beauty

There is something about the deep red mountains juxtaposed nex to a prickly cactus that capture the feeling of the southwest. This is from a Sedona, AZ off road field trip. Enjoy.

The Age of Innocence

This is one of my favorite photos that I've ever taken. Long before I had a clue about the intricacies of photography. I took this shot of my daughter about 7 years ago when she was reaching for something in the water. An impromptu moment that is captured forever. Crystal clear water and jagged mountains complete it for me. Taken at Jenny Lake in Jackson, WY.  Enjoy.

Won't you take me to Funky Cloud?

Ok, it's a popular spot, but the overlook at Mt. Washington can provide a great view for some spectacular sunsets. This one had a cool cloud formation that almost looked like a giant shrimp net reaching out to catch you. Enjoy.

Teton Moon

Pre-HDR. Yes, it looks a bit like an HDR image, but I took this back in 2005 while the family was vacationing in the Grand Tetons. This is a view of the mountain range from Jackson Lake Lodge. A view seen by millions, but on this night, while the sun was setting, the Moon still lingered above the horizon. I just love this area and can't wait to re-visit some day. Enjoy

Mt. Washington in full Color

Mt. Washington never looked so good.  Yes, my family was patiently waiting in the car doing a slow burn while I ran for the tripod and took some pics from this beautiful magic hour sunset over Mt. Washington, NH.  This is clearly taken from the lookout point, but I didn't see any other tripods grabbing this colorful photo that night.

I have to give it to my family, they are so patient with me as I don't get out too often to only take photos.  My girls are often left sitting in the car waiting for me to "finish" my shots.  Enjoy.

Home on the Range

Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam.  This is the one, but it's not inhabitable and its over 120 years old, and the buffalo roam all over the place, even inside.  The old barn is located at Mormon's Row outside of Jackson, WY with the Grand Teton Mountains in the background.  Late August, no snowcap on the mountains. Enjoy.
